Extraction efforts continue at abandoned mine shaft in Stilfontein

JOHANNESBURG – Police are monitoring exit points as extraction efforts continue at the abandoned mine shaft in Stilfontein, North West. 
Hundreds, maybe thousands of miners remain underground after weeks without food or water.

At the same time, the High Court is expected to rule next week on a bid to allow miners to exit unhindered.
